I JUSt moved to DC from Houston, and let me tell you it is a real adjustment. People here are very intellectual (most hold masters degrees and then some) the cost of living is waaay more expensive, and it is really hard to get to know people. I loved Houston (had great friends, family ect.) so I am a little partial--DC has awesome culture, it has a melting pot of races, and there is a lot to do, but honestly i prefer Texas due to lower cost of living and friendlier folks... --Just my opinion.
Reply:I would choose Washington DC since it is more intellectual. All of the museums are free to go see like the Smithsonian, the National Gallery of Art and many others. In addition, there are always free celebrations on the mall like on July 4 or Christmas one can attend. There are many excellent universities if you are going to college. To me Texas is like another country with its own rules totally unlike the rest of America. It all depends on what you are looking for and what you like. Good luck deciding

ok it all started last summer. My brother was in baseball and i would go see his games. Thats when i saw the boy who i thought was so fine (and still do). When i would look at him i sometimes caught him looking at me. At the end of my brothers baseball season i thought i wouldn't see him no more, so i forgot about him. Now that O'Neil is out of the picture, Mitchel and Jackson work together a lot, so Carter and Teal'c have been spending more time together. Teal'c has always been the suportive one when Carter is struggling. Maybe now they can have their time. What do you think?

When it comes to getting it around the other player he does the same foot work everytime. He predictable like that. If you are insecure in your size, try finding more flattering clothes to complement the good stuff that you do like about yourself while hiding those things you dont enjoy.

I'm basically gauranteed a spot in UCLA. Colleges usually look at your GPA at the time you sent your application and your SAT score. They do NOT look at your transcripts of Progress Reports. Only Report cards, and usually, again, for the GPA. And it's a damn C+. Not a C but a C+, you can still raise that with some effort. She's just trying to scare you into working harder. Just try pushing up that C to a low B and don't worry so much right now. To get into a good college just do extra curricular activities, on and off campus, get a good GPA and maube honors things if you can. Oh and a good SAT score.

My new puppy is 2 mos old and had a seizure, What do you think happened b/c he already had his distemper shot?
I took him to the Animal ER and they gave him Metacam and Penicillin. The next morning we took him his Vet and they prescribed him clavamox tab. He is doing well and is still playful but I am horrified to see him have a seizure again. The vets don't know exactly what it is and right now they are not ready to do a test. They want to see what happens next b/c he already had his shots and it may not be anything.

This past year Texas converted to P.C.C.M. Program to help the less fortunated pay for medical bills. The program was set to help the well beening /health of our children in Texas. But instead it is speading the hard earn Texas Tax Payers money on examines that children don't need for surgerys. Their aim was to save money but I am one of those parents that was a victim of this system and the real victim was my child it took 3 denials for surgery before my daughter got approved. In the process it cost our Texans more money than what was needed. What do you all think?

Do you think I should have a C-section or vaginal birth?
Ok, so I'm not actually pregnant yet, but my boyfriend and I are discussing having children in the near future. Anyway, I have this rare eye disease where I have abnormal blood vessels in my eyes that can burst and cause my eyes to bleed internally when there is pressure or strain put on my head. I then have to have expensive laser surgery to stop the bleeding, and it could still do serious damage to my central vision and will leave a permanent blind spot. Because of this I have been told I should have c-sections when I have children. The problem is, having one totally freaks me out. I have always wanted to have several children and I have always wanted to deliver vaginally without an epideral (I have a high pain tolerance and think it would be fine). The thing is, if I do this there is the risk to my eyesight. Is there anyone out there who has maybe delivered both ways and could give me a comparison? The thought of a c-section really freaks me out, so I could use some reassurance!

I've only had one child vaginally, but I've known many women who had a c-section. It's so common now that it's not something to freak out about. I wanted the same as you, but I ended up being induced and had to get an epidural after 12 hours. I refused a c-section. I would recommend birthing classes. They can help you learn breathing exercises and pushing technique that will help prevent pressure on your eyes. My mom told me to push with my stomach not with my face. It sounds funny, but you'll know what it means. You can feel pressure on your face when you push wrong. You should be able to release your a little breath slowly while pushing. Try it sometime on the toilet. The pushing needed there is strangely similar to birth. If you start to feel pressure under your eyes, kinda on your upper cheekbones, let out some breath. Good luck!
By the way- my eyes are somewhat sensitive and i actually broke a bunch of blood vessels in them just from vomitting and they were fine after giving birth. And during the pushing part (the epidural had been turned off and worn off by then) the closest I got to screaming and cursing my husband and such was when her head was half way out and I frowned and said, "I don't like this. This really is not comfortable"

I am a registered nurse and I have to say that I totally agree with my regular OB for the simple fact that when you have conditions like you and I do, a C-section is probably the safer way for us AND our babies because of the increased intracranial pressure, or in your case increased intraocular pressure. This is my first pregnancy, and I am 20 weeks, I am scared, but I have seen a million C-sections done, and they are very controlled procedures that way more often than not have good outcomes, and by that I mean the mother isn't extremely sore or sick as a dog from the anesthesia. I would personally go with a C-section if I were you. Good luck in the future.

The only thing that is annoying about a C-section is that, when your baby is born, you won't be able to move around and cater to it like you want to because you won't be able to move around very easily. You will be VERY sore for a few days afterwards and will need lots of help. But they will help you out in the hospital by helping you stand up and make a few steps. It's very painful at first, but you have to push yourself to do it, and you get very used to it. The thing that really helped me was walking around holding a pillow against my abdomen where my incision was. This stuff might sound a little scary, but trust me it's not as bad as you think. I would choose a C-section over vaginal delivery if I were you because you could save yourself all the eyesight worries, and be able to play with your baby without being bothered with your eyes. Of course you want to see your beautiful baby when it's born, so I'd definately go with the C-section. I'm sorry for the long response! I wish you all the best!

Everything down there will look weird,a nd if you do epidural, than you kinda won't feel anything. With a c-section you don't feel nothing. theyhave this big curtain so you see nothing. you might get tired and fall asleep to. At least i did at first. YOu won't realize til the baby comes out that you had it. After words, you will feel weak, and maybe hard to walk, or take showers and will need time to gain your strength. but overall it's not bad at all!
Reply:If going vaginally could make you go blind??!! I would go with the C-section. Now I watched a lady on the Discovery Health Chanel and she had a really bad heart. Was told that a delivery would be to stress full and raise her blood pressure to much. So they did a vaginal birth but the OBGYN used forceps and the nurses pushed the kid out. I just would go with the C-section. I know a whole lot of people that have had more than 2 kids that way Just talk to you Gyno and they will tell you what your options are!!!
Reply:Here's a little advice.. Firstly the option of vaginal birth or c-section is yours alone to make after getting the information from a qualified professional.. or two. Never go with just one answer because you'll find that different doctors have different opinions.. hence your eye doctor may say never have a vaginal birth but a OBGYN who understands all the aspects of birth may tell you otherwise. Look on the web or in your local phone book for parenting classes or pregnancy wellness classes and ask the instructor about your concerns.. Also find information on the internet and in magazines/books/articles about the pros and cons of both a vaginal birth and c-sections... Be informed before you try to make a choice! Good luck

Reply:I have talked to people who have had vaginal and sections and they say vaginal is worse. Even if you have a high pain tolerance, when you get to the pushing stage, you have to bare down, which will increase the pressure in your head. It's like having the largest bowel movement of your life. And sometimes it takes hours.
Reply:Sweetie, I had a C-section, and it's not that bad. I absolutely had no pain. I was put to sleep. The bad part of a C-section, in my opinion, is the scar it leaves (I'm a little vain), but the scar healed nicely so even that is not horrible. The worse part of a C-section is the lack of energy after the birth. It took me a while to get my energy level back to normal. Other than those minor things, it's not bad, honestly.
I only had one birth, so I am sorry I never experienced natural birth to compare it to.

Was told that a delivery would be to stress full and raise her blood pressure to much. So they did a vaginal birth but the OBGYN used forceps and the nurses pushed the kid out. I just would go with the C-section. I know a whole lot of people that have had more than 2 kids that way Just talk to you Gyno and they will tell you what your options are!!!

Reply:I have talked to people who have had vaginal and sections and they say vaginal is worse. Even if you have a high pain tolerance, when you get to the pushing stage, you have to bare down, which will increase the pressure in your head. It's like having the largest bowel movement of your life. And sometimes it takes hours.
Reply:Sweetie, I had a C-section, and it's not that bad. I absolutely had no pain. I was put to sleep. The bad part of a C-section, in my opinion, is the scar it leaves (I'm a little vain), but the scar healed nicely so even that is not horrible. The worse part of a C-section is the lack of energy after the birth. It took me a while to get my energy level back to normal. Other than those minor things, it's not bad, honestly.
I only had one birth, so I am sorry I never experienced natural birth to compare it to.

Does anyone think i'm stupid b/c i'm terrorfied of lice?
My friends think i'm a tad crazy, but i have this really bad phobia of lice. I have a pick that i use everyday at least three or four times a day. I pray that I don't get 'em, b/c last time I did, I lost it, I went loco. Shaking, sobbing, ect.. now i'm scared that people will think i'm a freak b/c i'm so scared. My hair is my pride and joy, and if I get 'em, I'm cutting my hair. I hate large gatherings b/c of the risk, and I hate going out in public. SIgh, I guess I am crazy. :(

I had a baby 3mths ago by C-section. When do you think it should be safe for me to start netball? I havent played for a few years say about 6yrs. And i wanted to start up again. Ive just moved interstate and i havent got a doctor here yet so i cant ask them. Please any ideas, whats did your doctors say to you?

His parents forbid us together b/c they don`t think I have changed?
my boyfriends parents hate me and say I am immature.The reason for this is because they think I treat him horribly and get jelous very easily.
Another factor in this could possibly be that my mom went over to his parents house and said that I demanded birth control one
day after school when I really didn`t.His parents know that my mom is unstable but they got mad at the fact she said I wanted
birth control.Now,his parents say that we can`t see eachother anymore or he will be sent to military school again because they
found out we were secretly dating a few days after we broke up.They were so proud for him finally dumping me and getting a new
girlfriend about 3 hrs after.I was hurt tremendesly but I still loved him so I went back out with him.He said the reason he
dumped me in the first place though was b/c I kept him on a short leash.We just recently got back together b/c I have changed
my attitude twords him but now wants to split up again b/c he doesn`t want to go behind his parents..

I can see that you truely LOOOOOOVVVVVVEEEEE him but his parents dont want you guys together because they are afraid you will take thier precious boy from them and that you will try to turn him against them.And of course hes gonna listen to his parents, the ones who feed,clothe,and take care of him.He loves you but hes probley not sure if he loves you enough to loose his family to you.Right now hes at the place where he has to choose YOU or his PARENTS,he has you and his parents in his ear every 5sec. telling him what right and whats wrong.He's having a hard time standing up to his parents right now and all you can do is let him build up the courage to tell his parents he loves you and dosent wanna feel like he has to choose anymorebetween the love of hi life and the loves of his life.His parentd cant see the good in you guys relationship, but i bet they made some mistakes in thier life and they just dont want him to do it, their trina save hm the pain and regret they had when they were in his shoes but they have to relize once hes 18 they wont be able to do anything about who hes dating or who he loves.Thats the reality chech they need.Maybe if you all sat down and put everything on the table and held nothing back and was completly honest then maybe they wouldnt have a prob with you.But its the fact that you guys are trina be sneaky and date without them knowing,HONESTY,RESPECT,AND TRUTH, is the keys threw life, you use them and you will neva go wrong.Babe i feel your pain and all cuz i feel you deeply Love him,just be honest and try it, it will all work out!

If he's under talk to him and com up with something comfortable for him if you are in love you should be able to come up with something.. I personally think if he loved you he wouldn't care about his parents only you. try putting him on a little longer leash because he might feel like your too needy. It would probably have to be him that pleads your case to his parents.
If I thought someone was treating one of my kids bad I would probably be just as upset. They are trying to protect their son.

Reply:ok i have been with my boyfriend for 7 years now starting just before my 16th birthday . we had been going out a year (roughly) and his parents went away on holliday leaving him with the house to himself anyway long story short he had a party and i was blamed for it (even though i was the one saying it wasn't a good idea) now his mother actually rang me up and said that i was no longer welcome in her house among a few other hurtful comments, anyway i tried for a long time to sort it out it really didn't help that my father had just commited suicide but i still kept trying she ended up saying to me that she wasn't going to change her mind about me and i was wasting my time talking because she wasn't going to listen, when my boyfriend REFUSED to brake up with me he was kicked out of home so my mum let him move in with us and a year or so later we moved out on our own we have been happy and in love ever since , but 5 years had past and my bf and his parents still weren't talking till last may we found out i was pregnant he called his parents to tell them now my son is 5 months old and his parents are back in our lives ok they just swept everything under the carpet and now act like nothing has ever happened his mum even rings up now just to talk to me ! whilst i proberly will always feel akward around them i will NEVER doubt my boyfriend he stuck by me through thick and thin and i know he loves me with all his heart because he chose me over his family!
i think the problem with your situation is not with his parents but with him it shouldn't matter what ANYONE elses opinion is if he loves you no one would be able to tell him to leave you because he just wouldn't listen . i feel for you honey i really do but i really think you might have to bite the bullet and say goodbye to him you need to find a man who will put YOU before anyone else.
