Do you think if you have a C in a class in school, it's a bad grade?

Even though it's an "average" grade, i was just wondering what everyone thinks of a C!!!!! Thanks! : )

Do you think if you have a C in a class in school, it's a bad grade?
Becasue of grade-creep, a C is no longer considered a good grade. However, you should also take into account whether the class is a core class for your goal, is it an academic course, and will it affect you GPA.
Reply:C is good! i live in the uk, and this is our grade thing:





A - excellent


B - very good


C - GOOD!!


D - satisfactory


E - good in some aspects


F - has trouble with the work


G - has great trouble with the work








its silly them people above me. it isnt bad! well in the uk it isnt. a G is bad!! gosh.

B - good


C - fair


D - poor

Reply:actually when you get an A or B for the rest of the grades it averages out to a good score
Reply:C just means your average like you said, just normal same old student like everyone else, Id say it shows that you put some effort to it rather than doing nothing and getting Ds and Fs but you might not be working up to your full potential. Or its just a subject you don't understand well. Everyone has their different strong points, that test, paper, or class just wasnt yours.
Reply:it all depends on that student in that subject! did they work hard for that C or did they blow off studying and just get by with a C.


if someone has the potential do do better, then it is not good enough.


if someone works their butt off for it, then it is good.

Reply:A 'C' is not an average grade in my opinion. It is a below average, not so good grade. For one, a C can affect a college student's financial aid and especially their GPA which is vital to transferring to another college, being accepted into certain degree programs, and graduating!


I have never received a C in my college career until today! I did not consider it average, I considered it bad! A 'C' in high school can affect a student from going to whichever college they want and their overall class number.
Reply:It depends on what your goals are, what school you're in, and what your goals are with your education.





If you're in highs school, and just trying to graduate, then a C is fine -- but it can hurt you if you plan on attending college.





And in college a lot of programs are very competitive, and having the occasional C might not hurt your GPA too much, but it could keep you from what you really want to do if you have too many.





But, for the most part -- a C in one class is not a bad thing.
Reply:C's are HORRIBLE. Even in Honors classes. I'm in the Honors program, and I think C's are bad.
Reply:It is average, but that means you are not above average and that there is room for improvement, but it will still get you into college-I mean look, Bush was a straight C student and he runs the country

unless its an honors or AP course then its not that good because people say that if you get a C in a harder course, then you are not living up to your potential.
Reply:A C is average but wen it is one grade above failing students these days think of it as below average!!! they feel pressured to get an A and in even some cases a B is HORRIBLE to some students!!!
Reply:depending on the class and teacher, says a lot. that could be the reason for the C, which is passing but it depends on you and how you feel about it
