I think it is important for all people to at least learn about the sociological imagination. Although some people will never be able to develop one because they are too close-minded. The sociological imagination helps us to broaden our perspectives on things by putting the shoe on the other foot. It encourages us to try to see things from someone else's perspective and understand that just because someone's perspective is different than yours does not make it wrong.
