Does anyone else think that C.Ronaldo is overrated like Beckham?

Yes he is a good player I'll admit that but not as good as they portray him to be, you agree?

I think a big factor in overrating football players is their looks. Both men are goodlooking and have a debated social life. When a player is in the paper more and more girls like them, whether your straight, gay, guy, girl, its hard not to pay attention to him. Unfortunately, alot of people think about both guys more as socialites or celebrities and less as footballers.





Also, he's young, it's always surprising seeing a young player (especially one that looks his age, or maybe younger) play with older players and still fit into the dynamics and do well.





So yes, objectively, i think both players are overrated. C. Ronaldo dives all the time and doesn't have alot of control with the ball, he does all these dribbling tricks but is still too immature or inexperienced to follow through and finish with passing or goalscoring. He could be one of the greats when he grows up, but as of now. overrated. Beckham is just a striker really, the only way he contributes to his teams like everybody says he does is during PKs and set pieces. Don't get me wrong, he's a great player, but he's talked about so much more for his social life than his football playing. He's lost his touch, if he even had it in the first place.
Reply:He isn't overrated... the boy can basically bamboozle anyone on the living planet... Maybe he over does things, but his got the speed, skills but he needs to improve the shooting... Becks isn't overrated, he's just famous... In his prime, he was basically the best passer the game ever had, not to mention the free kicks... And the guy works his ballz off... So basically, give him a break....
Reply:i dont like to say players are overrated...to some people they may be, but to some they may not be...some can be overrated in only certain areas, but other in other areas are far from it..so...i dont like to say anybody is overrated...and if they are, it isn't their fault, but it is ours because we're the ones that look at them and say, "wow, he is really hot, but he sucks." so, it's all up to us.
Reply:Ronaldo is a good player great dribbler but he is a ball hog and he dives way too much. The only reason he is so popular is because he is a pretty boy. Beckham is also a good player but yeah he is overrated too. There are mant other better soccer players in the world: Zidane, Henry, Ronaldinho, Ballack,

The only reason either of them have been thrust into the public eye, is due to the fact that they are pretty boys, that will draw women to the sport.





The great players are Ronaldinho, Zidane (wish he didn't retire), Klasnic, Henry, etc, etc, etc.

Reply:YES!!! There's a long list of midfielders who are much better players than C.Ronaldo but just like Beckham he markets his looks.





So when he finally makes a decent play, all the camera's flash, the ladies scream, and everyone forgets that he's been playing like crap for the last 89 Min's.

I cannot deny the fact that Cristiano is a good player. Yes, he darn well is, however, I truly believe he isnt as good as he is portrayed to be. C'mon !





Yes, he makes good runs down the flanks to torment defenders but that doesnt mean he's in the same league as Robert Pires (or someone else in that category. Sorry, cant think of anyone else in that class right now)
