Who HONESTLY thinks that C. Ronaldo did NOT 'cheat' and that M'borough were merely bitter about their loss?

This is effing ridiculous...Out of ALL the penalties rewarded recently, Cristiano Ronaldo AGAIN is a scapegoat for 'diving' criticism...Totally blown out of proportion, NO surprise there...And the booing is sooo WC '06...Who honestly agrees with me that the penalty was fair and square, REGARDLESS of whether you like Cristiano Ronaldo as a player or not?

Who HONESTLY thinks that C. Ronaldo did NOT 'cheat' and that M'borough were merely bitter about their loss?
actually i missed the match but i know it ended 2-1 for man utd, and even if he dived, many players do it, we all know what ronaldo is , to me he is an INCREDIBLE winger, he is sooo fast, magical, quick feet, skillful, he is almost complete! i am talking from the attacking aspect, and he is still so young, just wait until this red devil gains experience after a couple of years, i can bet u on anything that he will win the Fifa worldcup player of the year in the future, i think at least once! most of the players dive, Henry dived against Portugal and got the penalty in the worldcup! u gotta accept that this is a part of the game, even though its a negative part of it and it affects the game negatively, but its a part of it....

this is a link that i found later of the penalty, or the Cause of the penaltly, and i still have the same opinion! MANY players have done this! ronaldo is not the first one to, and i have seen dives much more obvious than this! Ronaldo is a great player, and if he is clever enough to fool the referee when the referee was sooooo damn close.... then he deserves the penalty lol
Reply:Cristiano Ronaldo clearly dives to win that dodgy penalty %26amp; he is a definite cheater!! no wonder Manchester United could escape with victory in such way.
Reply:Here is the Submarine Commander Fergusson's new adage, "If you can't beat them, dive, dive, dive!!"

Blatant dive, not something a team like man u should be doing. I guess chelski bought more than just money to the EPL.
Reply:i am impartial. it was a dive. blatant.
Reply:Defenitely not me!!!

He dived and the whole world knew it. As real fans of football we won't close our eyes when our players cheats right? The ridiculous part it, the manager back him up just like what David Moyes did on Andy Johnson few weeks ago!!
Reply:I think that the penalty is fair and square.
Reply:I didn't see the play, but Ronaldo definitely is a cheat. He's a diver. I remember one play last year he was just outside of the box. He went to kick it. He missed the ball badly. He went to the ground and rolled around. He was given a free kick. The closest defender was about two feet away. There was absolutely no contact. These players will continue cheating until the refs get the nads to call them for diving. I think diving should be a straight red instead of a yellow. That might slow it down.
Reply:He definately dived, he was looking to con the ref and did...again. It is a shame as he is a great player, but when he resorts to cheating all the time it is ridiculous. If youthink he isn't a cheat for the penalty, he dived again and got a free kick out of George Boatang. He just can't help himself.

It is hard for the ref's so something else should be done. I think they should be able to review a match and if it comes to light after wards the players should be punished.

The best result would have been for Lee Cattermole to have really taken him out, even if he got a red card...take the cheat out of the game.
Reply:I think he is one of the slimiest cheats I have ever seen. The goalkeeper made no contact and Ronaldo knew it yet he stood there with a girly smirk on his face while the keeper was booked..

He tried it several more times in the game.

What makes it worse is that he is a good footballer and should be setting a better example.
Reply:He did dove, and so did Rosicky!!!!
Reply:Dive or not, only Ronaldo will know.

It's very common to lose your footing when running at such speed. A slight touch and you will be tumbling down.

I mean, what else could have Ronaldo, or any other player have done? He has obviously lost his footing. It wasnt such a thearitical fall as like some other players do.

Like Sir Alex said, there might be no touch, but the intent was there by their keeper to block the path of Ronaldo. Therefore it should be a penalty.

ps: i do hope Ronaldo do keeps on his foot more often though.

pps: 'cheat' can refer to many others as well, those who inniates a referee to show the yellow card, cheat as in wasting time., etc...

some just show it in other ways.
Reply:I think the penalty was fair and square..

even though the goal keeper did not touch C.Ronaldo, but he blocked ronaldo's way..

and i dont like the way boro's manager talked about ronaldo..

say if Man Utd lost, Boro's manager wouldn't say bad things about Ronaldo right??

He just pissed coz his team lost..
Reply:I was watching it on a football show this morning and he was never touched. Zero contact. He could be such a great player if he could only shed this nonsense. Sir Alex, please give Ronaldo the boot in the head.
