Do you think my doctor will schedule my c-section a weeks before my due date?

I have been given 3 due dates July 26, August 10, and August 20. According to my last ultrasound my due date is August 11 and my ultrasound at 16 weeks gives a due date of August 10. August 20 is based on my last period. I am a single parent of a two year and I recently moved 4 hours away from home to live with a friend, not knowing I was pregnant. Because of the first date they gave me of July 26 my sister planned her vacation time at work to be here from July 25-July 5 and her job will not allow her to change her schedule. My best friend that I live with, her job will only allow her to take off July 3-6. So if I wait for my due date I will be at home with a newborn, a two year old, and stitches in my stomach (i am having a c-section). I dont think I will be able to do that and I dont know anybody here that could come over and help out. What do you think I should do.

Do you think my doctor will schedule my c-section a weeks before my due date?
My friend has had 3 c-section and is about to have another one in Aug. Her husband is in the military, so she goes to a military doctor and hospital. With all of her children they scheduled the c-section a week before the due date. I think this was because they did not want her to go into labor, I am not really sure.

My suggestion to you is tell you doctor your dilemma. You have a few people who took time off on these days to help you with you after your c-section. Tell her you have NOBODY else to help and these people can't come any other time because of their jobs. Ask if they can take your little one early if everything looks okay.

It is not going to hurt to ask. I am very sorry that you don't have any help near you. My other suggestion is to pray. :) Good luck with your new addition :) Congrats!
Reply:The doctor won't schedule the c-section until he knows that the baby is ready. He will probably base that on the ultrasound.
Reply:If the doctor feels like the baby is ready you can request that you have it on a certain date. He may or may not comply but all you can do is ask. I would explain your situation and let him know your wishes. Don't rush it though, if the baby's not ready, it's not ready. Good Luck and Congratulations!
Reply:Typically they schedule the c-section at 38 or 39 weeks to try and avoid you going into labor. I don't think there is much you can do except talk to you Dr and see waht time frame he is looking at (most likely from the Aug 10-11th due date).
Reply:Your doctor probably won't schedule your c section too early just to suit your friend's work schedule, unfortunately. The earliest ultrasound is the most accurate at predicting the due date, because the variances in growth are smallest early on. If you have to have a scheduled c section, most doctors perform them just about a week before your due date... the due date that they consider most accurate. It doesn't hurt to explain the situation to your doctor and try and get her to set a date and schedule it now, so you have a little more time to prepare. Good luck!
Reply:Well, you could consider putting your two year old in day care during the day until your friend is off work so she can help take care of him/her. However, your doctor will only schedule the C-Section when he feels it's in the babies best interest to come out, based on your ultrasound.
Reply:The Dr should wait to see which date seems about right and with the weight gain of the baby first. They usually do it 7-10 days before your due date.
