I have gained between 65 and 70 lbs. during my pregnancy, do you think a c section will be necessary?

If I do have to have a c section how bad will it hurt afterwards, and how long will it take me to recover?

no, i gained that much and gave vaginal birth naturally.

it's no problem. don't worry about it.
Reply:That is alot of weight. That is not normal at all. I can't predict whether you will have a c section or not, many large women have children naturally. Who knows, if you are unable to push or the baby is at risk they will definitely give you a C Section. They cut you open, of course it will hurt, you will have stitches and it will take weeks to recover. I would say between 5-6 weeks. It is also in a spot which will make moving around difficult. Every time you cough or laugh you will have to be careful not to pop your stitches and it will hurt.
Reply:I gained that much weight and I was not sitting around stuffing food down my throat. I delievered a beautiful, healthy 8 pound little girl by way of the vagina :)
Reply:How many are you popping out? Usually women gain 20-35 pounds, unless your gorging on food.
Reply:I gained ALOT with my first child, i was 130 pounds but ended up around 190, that was 60 pounds right there. I did have a vaginal birth, the baby was only 6lbs15oz and i went back down to 142 pounds afterwards. Every pregnancy is different, i didnt chunk out too much with my second child as I did with the first.
Reply:iv'e gained ungodly amount of weight with both my girls. about 75lbs. i would just look at food and put 10 lbs on. yes i had normal vaginal births. But im not so lucky at losing all the weight , i have had dna test before, and i have a very low metabolism. But anyways, good luck.
Reply:Weight gain is different for everyone, so for one to say something is "Not Normal" shows ignorance. I am a big girl, always has been. I had my first child vaginally. I lost 15 lbs and gained it back, so really I didnt gain anything. Some people may say that isnt normal neither, which again, shows their ignorance. There are many big girls out there that go vainally and dont need a section. Being big does not effect the size of anthing down below. Like I stated, I am a big girl and I have a small pelvis. Size does not matter. There are different factors why one would gain alot of weight, and not all has to do with how much food you eat. Sometimes when your pregnant you just cant get the energy you need to be as active as you were before pregnancy. You could eat a hamburger and gain 20 lbs... You are doing just fine. Dont be so worried about your weight. This is a time to be happy and feel good about your beautiful belly and the beautiful baby inside. Good luck...
Reply:as long as you don't have any other medical issues, your heart functions right, and didn't develop preclampsia or anything, I think you should be able to have a vaginal birth. As soo as you can, start being more active to lose those pounds, not to look prettier but to improve your health. Congrats on your baby!
Reply:i was about 215 when i had my last baby and i am a very small person and i had normal , he weighted 6lbs and 9ozs and birth , and i am 5'9 , don't worry u will lose that fat i did , when he / she start walking believe u will lose it , because u will be back he/her always the time , i am like 115 now ,
